Anthony McKeon –
biography
Anthony McKeon is a new artist on the Australian scene,
combining his youth in Ireland with an adopted love of Australian folklore.
Anthony describes his style as “underwater rhythm and blues”,
and his most recent exploration is an Irish take on old-school
reggae style, called “Soulless People”.
In his 10 years in Australia, Anthony has been inspired by the story of Ned
Kelly and this cry for reason,
romanticised in Australian culture.
Referencing the Specials, Bob Dylan, Blues greats and Damien Dempsey,
who collaborated on the song, Anthony is an accomplished singer-songwriter of
the people.
The song “Soulless People” was written in a response to heartless corporations
and the impact of their greed on society as a whole.
The album has been recorded locally at Bondi Pavilion Studios, produced by Nick
Mainsbridge,
with the recordings of Damien Dempsey by John Reynolds in London.
